Social activity

Our artistic project has a very strong social orientation. Alongside our concerts we program parallel activities aimed at groups at risk of exclusion and people with special needs.

There are certain groups within the population that because of their particular physical needs and psychosocial conditions are at the margins of social, cultural, and educational development. This marginalization, along with cases of forced isolation (prisons, juvenile centers, psychiatric institutions...) leads to a lack of stimulation that further aggravates this isolation, making later social re-integration even more difficult.

For our social activity we have count on the support of institutions like the Royal Opera House Madrid, the ONCE Foundation, Lisarco Dance Company and recently the German Association for refugees Zuflucht Kultur.

David Ballesteros leads the social area of BandArt. He has participated in projects such as the Pavarotti Centre of Mostar in Bosnia in 1999; British Museum and Great Ormond Hospital for Children of London; "El Sistema" and the Orquesta Simón Bolívar of Venezuela; The Guildhall School in London; The Spanish National Youth Orchestra; The Orchestra of Castilla León;  The Pablo Casals Festival; The Eastern Music Festival (USA); and the London Symphony Orchestra's Discovery Project, among others.
