Artistic Director - Gordan Nikolic

After studying in Basel with violonist and conductor Jean Jacques Kantorow, Gordan Nikolic became successively Concertmaster of Orchestre d'Auvergne, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Since 1997 is Concertmaster of the London Symphony Orchestra and since 2004 he is the Artistic Director of the Nederland Kamerorkest.

The longlasting personal and working relationship with Sir Colin Davis having had surely the most profound influence on Gordan Nikolic's artistic vision, meeting as well other great musicians, to name just a few, Kurt Masur, Bernard Haitink, Emmanuel Ax, Mitsuko Uchida, Valery Gergiev, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Mariss Jansons and Sir Simon Rattle.

Since 2004, he is master docent in Codarts, Rotterdam Academy of Music and holder of the honorary title of Prince Consort Professor in the Royal College of Music in London.

His discography as leader of the London Symphony Orchestra which represents hundreds of recordings, travels from soundtracks of Starwars, Harry Potter to Sir Elgar symphoniesAs chamber musician, his most notable recordings are Schumann Chamber Music, which won the «Diapason de l'année».

Gordan Nikolic is Artistic Director of BandArt since 2006.
