BandArt, born in 2005 within the Lucena Festival in Spain, is an independent orchestra formed by musicians of whom many are members of some of the most prestigious orchestras in Europe. The orchestra is led by its artistic director Gordan Nikolic, also leader of the London Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the Nederlands Kamerorkest.

The name "BandArt" represents well the orchestra's talent and working goals. "Band" comes from Bandas, traditional wind ensembles, still strongly alive in most of localities in Spain. "Art", where the musical language and musicians instincts are exposed to far more complex forms. BandArt 's aim is to explore the possibilities of strengthening the links of those two worlds, the local and the universal, on the platform of great composer's music.

Social integration through the arts is a vital part of BandArt´s activities. Due to this social vocation, BandArt has taken part in a number of activities in prisons, disability associations, schools and hospitals. For these projects, Bandart has been supported by the Royal Opera House Madrid, Don Juan de Borbón Foundation and ONCE Foundation.

BandArt has performed in the most prestigious festivals and concert series in Spain. In July 2016 BandArt has performed a Mozart´s Idomeneo production with Zuflucht Kultur at the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele in Germany.
